Affiliated with national charity Cuidiú

I've been a member of Cuidiú since my own pregnancy 7 years ago. It has given me a like-minded village with others at the same baby-stage as me. My own husband and our families were an amazing support also, I would have been lost without this layered support system.

The Irish name Cuidiú means care and support for all parents with bumps or babes, tots or teens. They are a parent-to-parent support charity run by volunteers. It is a national organisation and I'm a member of Waterford Cuidiú which has a Facebook page you can check out here https://www.facebook.com/groups/cuidiuwaterford/.

Or if you are more likely to make it to Wexford town there is a group there also https://www.facebook.com/cuidiuwexford/

Cuidiú's motto is 'education and support for parenthood'.

Antenatal Ireland childbirth education courses provides one year FREE membership to this vital charity. Cuidiú's breastfeeding counsellors are well regarded as trusted supporters who provide answers to a host of breastfeeding questions post-birth. While anyone can avail of Cuidiu's volunteer postnatal support via phone or attend local baby/ toddler meets, there are many perks to membership including free-cycle Facebook groups, discounts on classes such as paediatric first aid and social events.
